How to cure runner’s knee

Mark Green
Runner’s knee is one of the most common running injuries I see in the physio clinic and it is one of those injuries that should be manageable if you know what stretches and exercises to do.
Runner’s knee is a fairly generic description of 5 different things that can cause knee pain.
- Patella Tendonitis
- Hoffa’s Fat Pad Inflammation
- Quadriceps Tendonitis
- Patellafemoral Dysfunction
- ITB Friction Syndrome
Here is an ARTICLE that goes into much more depth about each of these conditions if you want to learn more.
If your knee is swelling up, locking, clicking or giving way then it is possible you might have a mensicus tear rather than runner’s knee. If that is the case, then read this article about how to diagnose and manage a meniscus tear.
